After more than a decade of crafting heavy, hypnotic riff-driven music, Monolord return with Neverending, a new album that marks a refined and more personal chapter for the band. Working with producer Sylvia Massy, they aimed to push their sound further, resulting in what they see as the culmination of 13 years together.
Lyrically, the album shifts from themes of religion to more personal reflections on relationships and life changes, while still exploring different perspectives. The lead single You Bastard contrasts a driving groove with themes of suicide and its emotional aftermath.
Musically, the album draws unexpected inspiration from classic ’70s rock, while also expanding their sound—such as the closing track featuring guest death-metal vocals instead of their usual style.
