Born in Dublin in 1966, Sinead was discovered singing wedding covers and soon left school to study music before moving to London in 1985. Her 1987 debut album The Lion and the Cobra received critical and commercial acclaim, blending diverse styles from atmospheric tracks like 'Troy' and 'Jackie' to the pop-rock hit 'Mandinka' and hip-hop inspired 'I Want Your (Hands on Me)'. The album also features 'Drink Before The War,' inspired by her time at a Catholic reform school and featured in HBO’s Euphoria.
