April 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane, released just ten months after Ziggy Stardust. The album showcased a musical evolution with brass, woodwinds, soulful backing vocals, and Mike Garson’s iconic piano.
This limited edition anniversary pressing is half-speed mastered from 192kHz restored original tapes, cut by John Webber at AIR Studios on a customized Neumann VMS80 lathe with no added processing.
Preceded by hit singles “The Jean Genie” and “Drive-In Saturday” (UK charting at #2 and #3), Aladdin Sane was Bowie’s first UK #1 album and his US chart debut, with an edited “Time” single reaching the US top 20.
