Sly & Robbie used savings from a Peter Tosh tour to launch the TAXI label, asking Gregory Isaacs to voice tracks; he agreed for free, having made many hits with them already. In 1979, Isaacs—Jamaica’s reigning “Cool Ruler”—was at his peak, delivering standout cuts like “Soon Forward,” a powerful cover of Marley’s “Slave Driver,” and four more originals. The album features extended Discomix versions that showcase the Riddim Twins’ iconic drum-and-bass work. This edition adds three rare 1979 Jamaican-only dub B-sides, reissued for the first time and offering a vivid snapshot of Sly & Robbie’s revolutionary sound.
