A major reissue series of cult Japanese actress and singer Meiko Kaji’s albums from 1972-74 begins with 1973’s Hajiki Uta. Remastered with original artwork, deluxe gatefold LP, OBI strip, and new liner notes by Hashim Kotaro Bharoocha, it features iconic tracks like “Urami Bushi” (Female Prisoner Scorpion theme, used in Kill Bill Vol. 2) and “Onna No Jumon.” The album blends atmospheric, sombre vocals with slow-burning grooves and funkier, wah-wah guitar-driven tracks, showcasing Meiko Kaji’s distinct, haunting sound.
