In 1966, Grace Slick joined Jefferson Airplane, bringing her hits "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit" from her previous band, the Great Society. Featured on their iconic 1967 album Surrealistic Pillow, these tracks became US Top 10 hits and helped define the San Francisco counterculture. With Jorma Kaukonen’s guitar, Jack Casady’s bass, and Spencer Dryden’s drums, alongside co-vocals from Marty Balin and Paul Kantner, the album captured the spirit of the Summer of Love.
