In 2001, Billy Reeves survived a severe car crash that left him in a coma and with amnesia. In 2017, his brother found two mini-discs with forgotten demos, which Reeves teamed up with Mark Morriss (The Bluetones) to bring to life. With help from Richard Archer (Hard-Fi), Crayola Lectern, and Mark Peters (Engineers), these recordings evolved from a commercial pop vision into a Canterbury-influenced debut for The Helicopter of The Holy Ghost. Featuring guests like Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins) and members of Amy Winehouse’s and Paul Weller’s bands, the album blends gentle, original, and versatile sounds.
