ELP formed in England in 1970 consisting of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). The band created a brand new world of music, combining classical and symphonic rock fused with beautiful vocals. Emerson, Lake and Palmer's most successful and well-realized album (after their first), and their most ambitious as a group, as well as their loudest, Brain Salad Surgery from 1973 was also the most steeped in electronic sounds of any of their records. The main focus, thanks to the three-part Karn Evil 9, is sci-fi rock, approached with a volume and vengeance that stretched the art rock audience's tolerance to its outer limit.
2CD - Deluxe Edition featuring the 2014 remaster of the album, including “Jerusalem,” “Toccata” and the full “Karn Evil 9” suite, with improved clarity and definition from the original tapes. A second disc adds a substantial selection of alternate mixes and studio outtakes, offering a deeper look at the recording sessions and arrangements. A comprehensive edition of one of the band’s most ambitious releases
