Released in 2014, Adams reached number six in the UK and number four on the US Billboard 200, earning two Grammy nominations for Best Rock Song (“Gimme Something Good”) and Best Rock Album. Produced by Adams and Mike Viola, the album marked a return to a rocking, electric sound inspired by his formative influences like The Wipers, Hüsker Dü, and The Replacements. Adams chose to self-title the album after discarding other ideas he felt sounded “stupid” or overblown.
