Junun is the 2015 debut album by Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Indian ensemble Rajasthan Express, produced by Radiohead’s Nigel Godrich. Recorded in a makeshift studio at Jodhpur’s 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort, the album blends Ben Tzur’s Sufi-inspired compositions—featuring qawwal vocals in Urdu and Hebrew—with Greenwood’s sparse, raga-influenced instrumentation. Praised for its raw, authentic sound, Junun captures the energy of Indian music while avoiding polished world-music conventions.
