Laibach’s The Sound of Music album stems from their 2015 North Korea concert, where they performed songs from the iconic 1965 film beloved in the DPRK. Featuring vocals by Boris Benko and Marina Mårtensson, the album reimagines classics like My Favorite Things, Edelweiss, and Do-Re-Mi, plus Maria / Korea. It also includes Arirang, a traditional Korean folk anthem, and a track featuring the Gayageum, performed by Pyongyang students, along with a welcome speech from a North Korean cultural official.
