Gerald Clayton’s second Blue Note album, Bells On Sand, explores the concept of time through contributions from mentor Charles Lloyd, father John Clayton, drummer Justin Brown, and vocalist Maro. Each musician symbolizes different time aspects—past, present, and future. The album features original compositions, works by Federico Mompou and Jeff Clayton, plus solo piano versions of “My Ideal.”
