Remixed from original 2” master reels at Abbey Road by founding member Brian James, this release gives a rockier, contemporary edge to The Lords of the New Church’s original studio recordings. The English/American gothic rock supergroup, active from 1982 to 1989, featured members from punk bands Dead Boys, Sham 69, The Damned, and The Barracudas. Known for their notorious stage antics and provocative MTV videos—like the Derek Jarman-directed “Dance With Me”—they scored indie hits with singles such as “Dance With Me,” “New Church,” “Russian Roulette,” and “Open Your Eyes.” The cover art is by original designer Graham Humphries.
