Celebrating 40 years of the band, Glasgow Eyes was recorded at Mogwai’s Castle of Doom studio and continues the creative streak that led to 2017’s Damage and Joy. The album blends their signature feedback-soaked sound with fresh influences from Suicide, Kraftwerk, and free-form jazz, while staying true to their roots. As Jim Reid puts it, “Don’t expect the Mary Chain goes jazz… expect a Jesus and Mary Chain record.” The result is a powerful evolution that both honors their legacy and explores new ground.
