Fronted by Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy, The Cult have been rock icons since 1983. Their 1994 self-titled sixth album, known as the “Black Sheep” for its cover, was a personal, introspective work produced by Bob Rock. Though slower to reveal its depth, it’s now seen as an underrated gem before their 1995 breakup. The band reunited in 1999 and continues to tour and release new music, including 2022’s Under The Midnight Sun.
