Nearly 35 years later, The Chameleons returned to one of Manchester’s iconic venues to perform their original set. Formed from members of the Cliches, Years, and Politicians, they gained attention with tense, moody early releases produced by Steve Lillywhite. After initial label changes, they released key albums like Script of the Bridge (1983), What Does Anything Mean? Basically (1985), and Strange Times (1986). The band split after their manager’s sudden death, with members pursuing separate projects, including Mark Burgess’s solo work and new bands.
