Simon Raymonde recorded his solo album Blame Someone Else while still in Cocteau Twins, featuring bandmates Elizabeth Fraser, Robin Guthrie, and Mitsuo Tate. Released in 1997 as the first Bella Union record, it arrived after the band had split. Now retitled Solo Works 96-98, it’s released on vinyl for the first time with three bonus tracks from a 1998 Japan-only edition. Simon reflects on the album’s creation during Cocteau Twins’ final turmoil and celebrates its place in Bella Union’s 25-year history.
