LOVE, the latest — and possibly final — album from Dexys Midnight Runners, is a deeply personal collection of songs drawn from Kevin Rowland’s life, exploring family, ageing, romance and memory. Blending songs written across three decades, the album captures intimate moments with warmth, honesty and emotional depth.
It also marks the band’s first release under the Dexys Midnight Runners name since 1985’s Don’t Stand Me Down, reconnecting with the group’s legacy while embracing a renewed audience. Long-time collaborators Sean Read, Mike Timothy and Jim Paterson help bring Rowland’s storytelling to life, alongside string arrangements by Brian Irving.
Produced by David Holmes, a lifelong Dexys fan, LOVE highlights the band’s enduring creativity and Rowland’s powerful songwriting.
