Buzzcocks return with Sonics In The Soul, their first studio album since 2014’s The Way.
Formed in Manchester in 1977, the band helped spark the indie label movement with Spiral Scratch and became pioneers of melodic punk-pop, scoring hit singles and classic albums. After disbanding in 1981, they reunited in 1989 and have remained active ever since.
Following the death of frontman Pete Shelley in 2018, founder Steve Diggle continues to lead the band. Recorded during the COVID era at Studio 7 in London and co-produced by Diggle and Laurence Loveless, Sonics In The Soul features the current lineup with Chris Remington (bass) and Danny Farrant (drums).
