Circles is Mac Miller’s sixth and final studio album, conceived as a companion to 2018’s Swimming and completed posthumously by collaborator Jon Brion. While sonically more subdued, it retains the emotional honesty, live instrumentation, and blend of singing and rapping that defined Swimming. Influenced by artists like T. Rex and John Lennon, and featuring a poignant cover of Arthur Lee’s “Everybody’s Gotta Live,” Circles serves as a reflective, genre-blurring farewell from an artist who continually pushed the boundaries of rap.
