Lorelle Meets The Obsolete return with Corporal, their seventh and most electrifying album yet—a fusion of psychedelic post-punk and hard-hitting electronics. Mixed by Antoine Goulet and mastered by Mikey Young, it channels the raw, politicized energy of Primal Scream’s XTRMNTR, reflecting both personal and collective unrest through distorted dance music.
Influenced by their DJ sets and last year’s Remezcla remix project, the duo draw inspiration from artists like Moor Mother, MF DOOM, and The Bug. As Lorena Quintanilla explains, Corporal centers on the body—its exhaustion, resistance, and capacity for joy. The lyrics explore disappearing and abused bodies, bodies in protest, and those seeking liberation through movement and pleasure.
