HighSchool, the rising post-punk duo from Naarm/Melbourne, release their long-awaited self-titled debut album via PIAS Australia. After early buzz from their Forever at Last EP and a London stint that produced the Dan Carey–helmed “Only a Dream” and the Italo-tinged “Colt,” the band sharpened their darker edge on the Accelerator EP while touring with acts like Sam Fender and Chvrches.
Back in Australia after a sold-out UK tour, HighSchool deliver a 12-track debut featuring “Dipped,” “Colt,” and “149,” produced with Ben Hillier and Finn Bellingham. It’s an essential, youthful, restless record that fully embraces the mythology of its name.
