Bags' Groove, recorded by Rudy Van Gelder and originally released by Prestige Records, compiles 1954 sessions plus two alternate takes. Featuring Thelonious Monk on title track takes, Sonny Rollins (tenor sax), Kenny Clarke (drums), Milt Jackson (vibes), Percy Heath (bass), and Horace Silver (piano on "Airegin" and "But Not For Me"), it's hailed as a post-bop cornerstone. Reissued on vinyl by Craft Recordings in their Jazz Essentials series.
