"Miles Ahead" marks the first collaboration between Miles Davis and Gil Evans, who later worked together on "Porgy and Bess" and "Sketches of Spain." The album flows as a continuous suite, featuring Davis on flugelhorn as the sole soloist, backed by Evans' signature horn arrangements. Celebrated for pioneering the "cool" jazz sound, it earned a 1994 Grammy Hall of Fame Award. This release is part of the New Ermitage collection, reissued on yellow vinyl with updated graphics.
