Chet Baker’s early 1950s recordings with Gerry Mulligan launched him to fame, earning him the title ‘New Star’ in Down Beat magazine. His 1956 album Chet Baker Sings showcased his exceptional, emotionally restrained voice and became a jazz landmark, later honoured with a Grammy Hall of Fame Award. Despite his success, Baker’s life was marked by struggles with addiction, legal troubles, and hardship until a 1970s comeback. This LP includes an illustrated insert/comic book.
