The Anchoress’ debut album Confessions Of A Romance Novelist, co-produced by Paul Draper, is a unique blend of styles described as revenge-pop or a dark twist on classic voices. Catherine Anne Davies (The Anchoress) explores and deconstructs traditional ideas of love through songs sung by different characters, creating a “musical ghostwriting” experience. Showcasing her multi-instrumental talents, the album features layered vocals and rich instrumentation, despite setbacks that nearly halted its creation.
