Where the Viaduct Looms features nine Nick Cave covers sung and played by 14-year-old Nell Smith, with instrumentation and production by The Flaming Lips. After meeting Wayne Coyne at age 12, Nell formed a close creative bond with the band. When a planned recording trip was cancelled due to COVID, Coyne encouraged her to cover Nick Cave songs—an artist Nell didn’t know—resulting in this unique, heartfelt collaboration mastered by Dave Fridmann.
