Muna brought sparkle and joy to the difficult year of 2021, turning pain into hopeful celebration. Their hit “Silk Chiffon,” featuring label head Phoebe Bridgers, became an anthem of queer joy during the pandemic. Since forming at USC, the band—Katie Gavin, Naomi McPherson, and Josette Maskin—has embraced marginalized experiences with honesty, but now also celebrates bliss as a radical act.
