Written during a period of physical collapse and emotional overwhelm, the album captures the storm, not the calm after it.
Returning to her roots in Chicago with producer Brian Deck, Furman blends orchestral emo, prog-rock, and evocative samples, performed by a longtime band deeply in sync. Themes range from seizures and existential dread to surrender and survival, culminating in a cathartic cover of Alex Walton’s I Need the Angel.
