Skullcrusher is Helen Ballentine’s introspective debut EP, exploring self-discovery during a period of uncertainty and unemployment. Through four dark, dreamy tracks, she captures the quiet power of embracing life’s in-between moments and the search for identity. Influenced by surreal fantasy and Czech new-wave film, the music balances beauty and unease, rejecting societal pressures for productivity in favour of accepting the unknown and finding comfort in being herself.
