In January 2020, after a frightening night when his father collapsed, Kevin Morby found solace in an old photo—his father young and strong. That moment of fear, reflection, and resilience mirrored the uncertainty of the months that followed. As the world shifted, so did Morby, channelling themes of memory, time, and the courage to dream into song. In Memphis, alone with his guitar and a mic, he captured elegiac meditations on life and loss.
