I Am Easy To Find is The National’s eighth studio album and follow-up to 2017’s Sleep Well Beast. Accompanied by a 24-minute film of the same name directed by Oscar-nominated Mike Mills and starring Alicia Vikander, the album and film are companion pieces—sharing themes and music but standing independently. Recorded mostly at Long Pond Studios with sessions worldwide, the album features vocal contributions from Sharon Van Etten, Lisa Hannigan, Mina Tindle, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and more.
The album shifts focus from frontman Matt Berninger to a variety of female voices, blending choral arrangements and strings with the band’s signature sound. This collaborative, cinematic approach marks a bold evolution in The National’s work, exploring what it means to be human in 2019.
