The Folk Implosion’s first new album in 20 years, Walk Thru Me, sees Lou Barlow and John Davis return to their beat-driven pop roots. Working remotely from Massachusetts and North Carolina, they blend Barlow’s soft vocals and paternal lyrics with Davis’s urgent style and Persian-inspired instrumentation. Produced by Scott Salter, the album reflects their distinct approaches and long-distance collaboration, capturing the band’s signature mix of disparate elements turned into catchy pop.
