Will Toledo, the prolific force behind Car Seat Headrest, built an 11-album catalogue independently before signing with Matador. Starting in 2010 by recording vocals in his family car, Toledo’s sharp, literary lyrics explore youth, love, depression, and more. After forming a full band in Seattle, Teens of Style reworks earlier material with vibrant, diverse arrangements—from electronic psychedelia to punk to acoustic ballads—showcasing his expansive vision with newfound clarity and refinement on his Matador debut.
