In 1981, Motörhead were a band of extremes, riding the breakthrough success of Ace Of Spades while enduring relentless touring. That late-1980 UK run — 32 shows with just two days off — became the raw fuel for No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith, named after a slogan painted on the band’s truck.
Released on 27 June 1981, the album drew heavily from Ace Of Spades, Overkill, Bomber and the band’s debut, capturing Motörhead at full throttle. Lemmy later called it their definitive statement, and audiences agreed: No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith went straight to number one in the UK — their first and only chart-topper — and remains one of the most essential live albums ever recorded.
This edition features a brand-new remaster from the original tapes, issued on triple vinyl and deluxe CD formats, and includes a full Newcastle show from the Short Sharp Pain In The Neck tour, released in full for the first time.
