Piece of Mind (1983) is Iron Maiden’s fourth studio album and a defining moment in their evolution. With the addition of drummer Nicko McBrain, the band sharpened their sound and embraced more complex songwriting. The album blends galloping riffs, epic themes, and literary influences—most notably in tracks like “The Trooper,” inspired by the Crimean War, and “Revelations,” drawn from religious and occult imagery. Other standouts include the darkly theatrical “Flight of Icarus,” the haunting “Still Life,” and the intense “Die with Your Boots On.”
