Recorded in just fifteen days in late 1990, Temple of the Dog was created as a tribute to Andrew Wood, the late Mother Love Bone frontman who died of a heroin overdose earlier that year. The Seattle supergroup featured Chris Cornell, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, and drummer Matt Cameron. The band’s self-titled and only album was released by A&M Records on April 16, 1991.
