V is Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s first double album, created between Palm Springs and Hilo, Hawai’i. Designed as a continuous journey and inspired by California road trips, it features 14 sun-soaked tracks blending West Coast AOR, yacht rock, quirky pop, and Hawaiian Hapa-haole influences. Ruban Nielson, with contributions from his brother Kody, crafts laidback anthems and cinematic instrumentals that evoke sunny vibes alongside a subtle, darker undercurrent.
