Ron Gallo’s Really Nice Guys, released January 19, 2018, is an 8-song concept EP co-produced with Joe Bisirri. The project humorously reflects on Gallo’s year supporting his New West Records debut HEAVY META and offers sharp satire of the music industry.
The EP pokes fun at everything from endless “rough mixes” (presented as an iPhone demo, live band demo, and overproduced autotuned studio version) to the polite euphemism of calling bad bands “really nice guys,” plus the all-too-familiar guest list requests from friends. Adding to the comedy, it features real-time commentary from Gallo’s mom’s boyfriend, Jerry, recorded via hidden mic as he listens to the EP for the first time.
