The duo was brought in somewhat later in the production process, after the score’s initial composer, Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, ceased involvement due to creative differences. Wallfisch and Zimmer were able to craft not just one of the best scores of the year, but one of the most thrilling sci-fi scores in recent memory.
