Pale Blue Eyes return with New Place, their third album and a reflection on change, loss, and new beginnings. After touring Europe with Slowdive, the band’s core duo, Matt and Lucy Board, relocated from Devon to Sheffield following a family tragedy. The move inspired a fresh sonic direction—new city sounds, uplifting synths, and driving Krautrock rhythms—while holding onto their signature warmth. Highlights include the shimmering “How Long Is Now,” meditative “Be There” (featuring Rachael Swinton), and textured “Seven Years.” New Place marks a turning point for PBE, both personally and musically.
