Trees Speak’s third album on Soul Jazz Records, Post-Human, blends 1970s German electronic and Krautrock (Harmonia, Can), haunting ’60s-’70s soundtracks (Goblin, John Carpenter), and New York No Wave synth-guitar DIY vibes (Suicide, Eno). Drawing on pioneers like Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze, the album creates timeless, sci-fi-inspired soundscapes. Following their acclaimed Ohms and Shadow Forms, Post-Human is a concept album exploring retro-futurism and life after humanity, illustrated by Eric Lee’s cover art. Tucson duo Daniel and Damian Diaz weave desert-inspired cosmic magic, imagining trees as data storages and collective communicators, inviting listeners into their visionary sonic world.
