On Raum, Tangerine Dream expand on the ideas of Probe 6–8, blending real-time compositions with classic sequencer-driven soundscapes using Edgar Froese’s archival material. Created during the isolation of the pandemic, the album features immersive tracks like the 17-minute “In 256 Zeichen,” the acid-tinged “Continuum,” and the eerie “You Are Always On Time.” The title track nods to early works like Zeit and Phaedra, merging ambient textures with rich synthesizer layers. Raum marks the band's second studio album since Froese's passing, honouring his legacy while pushing their sound forward.
