Tangerine Dream, pioneers of electronic music since 1967, laid the foundation for ambient and electronica, earning seven Grammy nominations and recent features in Stranger Things and Grand Theft Auto. After founder Edgar Froese’s death in 2015, remaining members Thorsten Quaeschning, Ulrich Schnauss, and Hoshiko Yamane continued his vision with Quantum Gate (2017). Now joined by Paul Frick, the trio returned in 2021 with Probe 6–8, blending classic sequencer-driven sound with ambient textures. Featuring material from Froese’s archives, the release includes remixes by Grand River and Sam Barker and previews a forthcoming full-length album.
