She and Me Fall Together in Free Death is one of Nurse With Wound’s most accessible yet conceptually bizarre albums since Rock 'n Roll Station. Side A is a 20-minute Krautrock-inspired groove, echoing Can or Tony Conrad & Faust, built on a hypnotic drumbeat, didgeridoo drones, and layers of guitar feedback. Side B opens with Steven Stapleton’s eerie vocal debut on the jazz standard “Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair,” blending Velvet Underground-style instrumentation with ghostly atmosphere. It closes with “Chicken Concret (For Missy E),” a surreal, collage-heavy finale of tape edits, birdcalls, and disorienting electronics. A bold fusion of songcraft and sonic experimentation.
