Dead Air, Mordant Music’s cult 2006 album, gets its first vinyl release via Castles in Space, newly remastered with updated artwork by Admiral Greyscale. A hauntingly surreal blend of Saint Etienne and Throbbing Gristle, the album features the nostalgic voice of Thames TV’s Phillip Elsmore, evoking the eerie feel of a defunct broadcast era. With its concept of a ghost TV station and playful nods to 1970s iconography, Dead Air remains a uniquely disorienting and evocative listen.
