The Music from Matthew Barney’s Drawing Restraint 9 is Björk’s 2005 soundtrack collaboration with Barney, blending traditional Japanese music with her experimental style. Featuring shō virtuoso Mayumi Miyata, Noh performer Shiro Nomura, harpist Zeena Parkins, and guest vocals from Will Oldham, the score shifts from ritualistic minimalism to stormy electronics. Björk herself sings on Bath, Storm, and Cetacea, making the album a unique fusion of cultural tradition and avant-garde sound design.
