Leonard Cohen’s appearance on a BBC television special on 20 March 1968 proved hugely influential, helping to cement his success in the UK. Backed by a select group of British musicians including Danny Thompson and Dave Cousins, Cohen performed seven songs from his debut LP, alongside material that would later appear on subsequent albums, with the exception of There’s No Reason You Should Remember Me.
