After their 1969 album Liege and Leif, Fairport Convention, led by fiddle-player Dave Swarbrick, delved deeper into traditional music. Following the departures of vocalist Sandy Denny and bassist Ashley Hutchings, guitarists Richard Thompson and Simon Nicol took on vocals. With new bassist Dave Pegg and drummer Dave Mattacks, they released Full House in July 1970. Recorded with Joe Boyd, the album blended traditional folk tunes with originals like Thompson and Swarbrick’s epic "Sloth," solidifying their role as folk-rock ambassadors. The sleeve humorously featured invented traditional British games.
