Sol austan, Mani vestan is Burzum’s 11th album and a return to purely electronic, instrumental music. Inspired by Burzum’s earliest ambient works such as “Tomhet” and “Han som reiste,” the album features almost an hour of slow-paced, contemplative and atmospheric compositions. Created as a soundtrack to ForeBears by Marie Cachet and Varg Vikernes, it explores Pagan themes of descent into darkness, ascension into light, spiritual awakening and the elevation of man to the divine.
